Apr. 25th Wait Upon The Lord
Bible Reading: 1 Jn. 2:27; Jn. 2:5; 14:26
devotional
Is. 40:31 ‘but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint’
Every Believer, despite busy schedules of life and living, must learn to turn-aside regularly. Wait upon the Lord for a day or two weekly, as this is the only way to ‘renew strength and mount up with wings like eagles’.
Waiting upon the Lord is giving time and attention to personal devotion of praise, studying the Word, prayer and fasting. This is what releases supernatural strength, God’s amazing presence, anointing and His inner voice.
Let’s pause briefly and talk about God’s voice on the inside of you. It’s the anointing ‘within that instructs’, the inner voice of motivation, direction and correction that is always true and never lies no matter how ridiculous or implausible it sounds.
Pull away from the hustle and bustle. Shut out the boisterous sounds of worry, anxiety, fear, etc. Be still and listen for the voice of the Master. He will tell you what to do, where to go, how to live and the wonderful things that lie ahead of you.
Prayer:
• Ask for an ever-increasing faith with growing insight into the Word of God for everyone in GH. Lk. 17:5; Acts 19:20
• Refuse ignorance; ask for an ear that hears and an understanding heart. Receive a willing heart to instantly obey. 1 Cor. 12:1; Phil. 2:13
Thought for the day:
Wait upon the Lord and walk by His voice
