September 1st Spiritual Foundations I
Bible Reading: 1 Sam. 16:6-8; Dan. 5:24-27; Josh. 1:8
Ps. 11:3-4 ‘if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? 4 The Lord is in His holy temple, The Lord’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men’
There are natural foundations we have all learnt to understand and respect. For instance, one must engage the gear to drive, deduce a diagnosis before treatment and never switch off the engines of a plane in mid flight. Likewise, there are spiritual foundations that are essential for a safe journeying through life.
God is alive; He rules and reigns throughout the universe. His authority is unquestionable, His power unimaginable and His glory unequalled. He also tests us as He did the sons of Jesse to determine who will sit ‘on the throne of Israel’. It is these destiny determinants that are the covenant practices of life.
‘For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart’ 1 Sam. 16:7
Drive yourself into a great and glorious future. The syllabus has been fixed and the ‘Examiner’ has both revealed and released what the questions will be. Do not leave success, sound health, security and the likes to chance. It’s time to make sure your future and actively pursue it.
Prayer:
i. Thank God for God’s table of provision and goodness despite all enemies. Ps. 23:5
ii. Declare spiritual growth and maturity to the body of Christ in your church and nation. Eph. 4:15
Thought for the day:
Christian foundations are more important than charisma.
