August 21st Renew Your Mind I ‘Association’
Bible Reading: Prov. 4:20-27

Rom. 12:2 ‘and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God’
God’s word is His tool for renewing the mind but this requires decision, attention, dedication and meditation. Human thoughts are governed and transformed by four principal things: Association, Observation, Instruction and Invigoration. Let’s start with Association. Whatever or whoever you associate with ends up defining, controlling and modulating your thinking.
Num. 13:31; 14:1 ‘but the men who had gone up with him said, we are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we…
So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night’
Wisely scrutinize your friends, confidants and conversations, all of them. Be careful about the TV programs you watch and the books or magazines you read. Social media and all telephone conversations count too. All these have an enormous influence on your ability to renew your mind and order your thoughts in line with God’s word.
Prov. 4:26-27 ‘ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil’
Prayer:
i. Pray for the church to retain focus on Christ and not the world. 1 Jn. 2:15-17; Heb. 10:38-39; Lk. 9:23
ii. Ask God to embolden the Body of Christ to proclaim the gospel. 1 Tim. 4:2; Acts 1:8
Thought for the day:
Unwise associations will derail a great destiny.

  1. Amen. I agree with everything you said in this article. People don’t realize how important everything we take in influence all of our decisions, this is why Jesus said, if a man even looks at a woman wrong, he has already sin.Because what ever we keep putting our focus on we will eventually become that. He also said be careful of what we let in the eye gate for this very reason.
Thanks for sharing, wish it was longer. I enjoyed the read.
