Jan. 12th ‘The Spirit Of Wisdom’ By Dr Albert Odulele
Bible Reading:     Prov. 1:20-23; Eph. 1:17; Is. 10:27

1 Cor. 12:8 ‘for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit’

Wisdom is a Holy Spirit force. Is. 11:1-2 says ‘there shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord

Jesus functioned on earth by ‘the Spirit of wisdom’. He also said ‘I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist’ Lk. 21:15. God expects you and I to flow in the Spirit of wisdom and confound adversaries and adversities.

This wisdom is an anointing that destroys yokes. It does not shout or scream but its results speak loudly. A lady had been bleeding non-stop for months since she gave birth to her first child. Distressed and dishevelled, she came to see me.

As she spoke, the calm quiet voice of wisdom spoke to my heart. ‘Tell her the problem has come to an end, lay your hands on her and curse the root of the bleeding’. I promptly told her this and placed my hands on her head. To God’s glory, a couple of months later she testified that the bleeding stopped instantly. That’s the Spirit of wisdom in action.

Paul prayed in Col. 1:9 ‘that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding’. Aim to be filled with the Spirit of wisdom at all times; it will make you amazing to the people around.

Prayer:

  1. World leaders are under immense pressure on several fronts. Pray for them (wisdom, courage, uprightness, etc) 1 Tim. 2:1-5
  2. Pray for the gift of wisdom. Daily ask God for a fresh baptism of wisdom Prov. 8:34-36; 1 Cor. 12:7, 31

Thought for the day:
The tasks and triumphs ahead are enormous; tackle them with the Spirit of wisdom.
