Feb. 14th The Obedience Of Faith II
Bible Reading: 1 Cor. 9:17; Ps. 112:2; Gal. 1:16; Exod. 25:40
1 Chron. 28:9 ‘as for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever’
Faith can be defined as God being able to guarantee your obedience every time He speaks. The obedience of faith is only acceptable before the Lord when carried out willingly, delightfully, promptly and absolutely.
‘If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land’ Is. 1:19 ‘Serve Him with a loyal heart and a willing mind…’ Obedience must be agreeable, enthusiastic and with keenness. This matters to God.
Faith also demands joyful or delightful compliance; not grudging reluctant action that’s often seen in believers. ‘Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments’ Ps. 112:1
Finally obedience must be prompt, timely and without delay. Move with urgency when God gives instructions; that’s what faith is. However, prompt action must be accompanied with absolute obedience; build according to the pattern shown for God’s glory to be revealed. Mat. 4:19-20; Exod. 26:30; 27:8; 40:33-34
Prayer:
i. Pray for grace to be faithful in tithing, offerings, sowing and helping the needy. Deut. 14:22, 29; Prov. 3:9-10; 11:25
ii. Commands God’s host of angels to execute judgement on all enemies of truth Judg. 1:14-15
Thought for the day:
It is not enough to hear, one must act upon God’s Word
