June. 30th The Prayer of Consecration
Bible Reading: Mat. 26:39; Jer. 29:11; Acts 26:19
Lk. 22:42 ‘saying, Father, if it is your will, take this cup away from me; nevertheless not my will, but yours, be done’
This is prayer of complete surrender and total ‘hand-over’ of self to God. It is to adopt God’s will, once discovered, and abandon one’s personal desires or plans. Jesus prayed and said ‘not my will but your will be done’
The prayer of consecration says to God ‘I will go anywhere you send me and do whatever you tell me’ without trying to influence or manipulate Him. Individuals, talents, ministries, property, businesses, etc can be consecrated to God in prayer.
Submit entirely to God and to be used in the service of His kingdom. Release yourself as a seed to be sown in dedication; this is the path of distinction. Jn. 12:24 says ‘unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain’.
This is the last day of the first half of the year. There is no better time than now to yield your entire being to God. The Creator of the universe deserves more than remnants of your person, attention and time; give Him your best, give God your all.
Prayer:
i. Glorify God for life, health, protection, divine supplies and covenant blessings in the first half of the year. Ps. 107:22
ii. Trust God for increase, grace, peace, godliness and divine direction for the second half of the year. Ps. 139:10
Thought for the Day:
Praise focuses on what you have, not on what you don’t have.
