June. 29th The Prayer of Agreement II
Bible Reading: 1 Cor. 1:10; 1 Jn. 5:14; Heb. 13:15
Mat. 18:20 ‘for where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them’
Nothing lies beyond the reach of truly agreed parties. The prayer of agreement stops devils in their tracks, invokes God’s presence, secures heavens backing and multiplies strength in battle. However, just like the prayer of petition, there are rules that govern its effectiveness.
Firstly, parties must believe the same thing and be in total agreement. Amos 3:3 says ‘can two walk together, unless they are agreed?’ Get rid of the slightest traces of division, strife, rancour and the likes, seeking God in unity of spirit and purpose.
Another important principle of agreement prayer is the subject to be presented before God. There has to be a measure of specificity. God is not to be expected to respond to generalised, vague or non-specific prayers. Make sure there are bible passages that back the request being agreed upon.
Lastly, refuse to doubt God’s faithfulness and put your faith to work. Jesus said ‘and whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive’ Mat. 21:22. Give God thanks continually and celebrate a favourable response from the Lord.
Prayer:
i. Establish through prayer God’s will in your life, family, church and nation. Mat. 6:10
ii. Ask for the mighty Hand of God to rest upon your nation for revival, righteousness and restoration 2 Chr. 7:14
