June. 27th The Prayer of Petition II
Bible Reading: Mat. 7:7-8; Prov. 4:20-22; Phil. 4:8

Eph. 1:3
‘blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ’
Let’s consider a few more principles that make the prayer of petition effective. Aside from being specific, getting agreeing scriptures and walking in faith, you must actually talk to God and ask in prayer. It is not enough to desire and be passionate about a matter; you must actually petition God.
Once you have spoken to God focus on testimonies relevant to your petition. Take your attention off the challenge and zoom your mind on God’s change in the lives of others. Rev. 19:10
tells us ‘the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy’. Every testimony is a prophecy awaiting your faith-attention.
Meditate and print a picture of a glorious outcome. Delete every image of doom, destruction and disaster circumstances are projecting on the screen of your mind. When you petition God, it is your duty to paint an internal picture that is in line with what you have asked.
Finally, start thanking and praising God once you’ve presented your request. Paul said ‘be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God’ Phil. 4:6. Praise God before the manifestation shows up.
Prayer:
iii. Thank and praise God for the answers to your petitions of prayer and faith
iv. Bless the Lord for His revival, renewal and refreshing in your local church Hab. 3:2
Thought for the Day:
Persistent negative images work against answered prayer
