June. 23rd The ‘What’ Of Prayer II
Bible Reading: Prov. 28:9; Ps. 18:2
Is. 59:2 ‘but your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear’
The prayer altar must be handled with the understanding that there are five important bible imperatives for it to be great and effective. The first is obedience. Jesus said ‘now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him’ Jn. 9:31
Your lifestyle impacts your prayer altar. One cannot be involved in fraud, sexual impurity, backbiting, dishonesty, lying and the likes and expect God to respond to their prayers. If you repent and clean up your act you will see your prayer-life become dynamic and vibrant.
Secondly, learn to trust in the Lord. The word trust is a covenant term that means complete and absolute faith in God. David said ‘and those who know your name will put their trust in you; for you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You’ Ps. 9:10
Those who trust in the Lord are ‘never be put to shame’ Ps. 71:1. Pray with faith in the heart. Pray based on bible promises and let the Word, not circumstances, be an immoveable anchor for your faith. These are secrets to praying God’s way.
Prayer:
iii. Repent of all personal ungodliness and naughtiness that’s hindering your prayers Jam. 1:21
iv. Pray that the Lord increases your faith for exploits in prayer and intercession Lk. 17:5
Thought for the Day:
