May 30th The Teacher
Bible Reading: John 14:26; Jer 33:3
1Jn 2:20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things
1Jn 2: 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him
The Holy Spirit has been sent to the earth amongst other things to be your teacher. We haven’t been left alone in this world but we have a guide, the precious Holy Spirit. Jesus said He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that He has said to you. Jn 14:26.
This is incredible and hard to comprehend, but I have a Teacher on the inside of me, not just any Teacher but the teacher of Teachers. He will teach me all things. All really means all. That means there is nothing that He won’t teach me. This of course takes time and patience. The Holy Spirit is the perfect Teacher and knows what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
He teaches us by highlighting the relevant scriptures to us as we read and study the word. He teaches us through daily experiences, He teaches us by directing us to seasoned men and woman of God. He teaches us by observing the things around us. How many times in scripture have we seen the word ‘observe’ or the phrase ‘What do you see?’
He will bring us into a deeper understanding of the things of God. He will teach us all things even subjects that are difficult at school, about the human nature or about the stars in the universe, which the scriptures says He knows by name. He wants you to engage Him as the Teacher and as you draw near to Him He’ll draw near to you.
Prayer:
• Lord, teach me your ways. Ps 119:26
• Lord, teach me what I do not see. Job 34:32
Thought for the day:
The greatest teacher lives within me and I therefore have the potential to understand all things.
