June. 14th Praying Effectively VII
Bible Reading: Acts 4:29-31; 5:12
Mat. 6:13 ‘and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen’
God answers prayer. Daniel was thrown into a den of starved lions but God heard his prayers and delivered him. ‘Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, …he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days’ Dan. 6:10.
The apostles were beaten and threatened but resorted to prayer and not political activism. They said ‘now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to your servants that with all boldness they may speak your word’ Acts 4:29 God answered ‘and through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people…’ Acts 5:12
Folks, God answers prayer. This is why prayer must start and end with thanksgiving and praise. Jesus said end every prayer session with ‘yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever’. Never stop praying until you have given God glory for who He is and what you know He will do.
Somebody gave me some money by cheque recently and I thanked him before it was banked or cleared. Learn to thank God for answered prayer before there are any manifestations. His credit is good, He cannot fail and He never lies. Praise the Lord.
Prayer:
i. Bless God for answered prayer; for every request you have presented before Him in faith Mat. 7:7-8
ii. Ask God to intensify the light of His Church in your community and nation Mat. 5:14-16; 6:22-23
Thought for the Day:
Praise is the pleasing presentation of prayer
