May 22nd The Witnesses
Bible Reading: 2Cor 2:4; Jn 4:10
Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
2000 years ago the Holy Spirit was sent to the earth to take up residence in every believer. It started with disciples in the upper room and spread out from there. The greatest gift known to mankind, is the gift of the Holy Spirit.
It’s the greatest gift because we have the same Spirit that dwells in Jesus, also dwelling in us. Think about that. That means that the things Jesus did we can do also and more. It’s the greatest gift because there can be no greater than the One who created you from the dust of the earth, created the universe, the Angels and everything that exists. Now He lives in you and I.
However, He didn’t come just to say “Hi” or to make us feel warm and fuzzy. He came with all power and authority so that all who receive Him will also walk with power and authority. Paul said in 1Cor 2:4 that he’s not coming with enticing words of men’s wisdom but in demonstrations of the Spirit and power.
There has been too many “demon-strations”; we need demonstrations of the power of God in our lives, homes and cities. He gave us power to become witnesses. Not witnesses of what happened 2000 years ago only but witnesses of the present day miraculous power of the Most High on the earth right now! We are Holy Spirit empowered men and women of God.

• Ask God to baptize you again with His Holy Spirit. Acts 4
• Thank God for the authority He has given you over the enemy
