Mar. 5th Forgives All Your Iniquities
Bible Reading: Ps. 103:1-5; 1 Jn. 1:9-10; 2 Cor. 7:1
Ps. 103:2-3 ‘bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases’
‘Bless the Lord and do not forget His many benefits’. These are daily blessings that come from above, which sadly believers are either unaware of or simply ignore. Consider what the apostle James wrote in Jam. 1:17:
‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning’
The Psalmist lists amazing blessings and first amongst them is ‘He forgives all your iniquities’. God’s forgiveness cost His only Son and reveals amazing grace that can’t be purchased with money. If you can think of nothing else, thank God for the forgiveness of sin.
‘Who forgives’, this is present continuous. This means He continues to forgive you and I of sinful thoughts, motives, actions, neglects and filthiness of the flesh and of the spirit. Jesus is God’s greatest gift to mankind and we must be thankful for His remarkable unfathomable expression of love.
Thanksgiving starts with appreciating God for the Blood, atonement of sin, salvation and sonship. ‘Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him’ 1 Jn. 3:1
Prayer:
• Pray not to be insensitive or carnally minded but spiritual and God-responsive in all things. 1 Cor. 2:14; Rom. 8:6
• That God’s plans are unveiled and His will established in every area of your life Mat. 6:10; Lk. 1:38
Thought for the day:
God’s greatest gift to mankind is Jesus.
