Feb. 15th Faith Actions I
Bible Reading: Jam. 2:14-26; Mk. 2:1-11; Lk. 19:1-6
Jn. 8:39 ‘they answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, if you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham’
Faith produces supernatural results only when there are corresponding actions. Jesus saw people’s faith through their actions. The paralytics’ friends tore up the roof; Zacchaeus climbed a Sycamore tree and the haemorrhaging woman touched Jesus’ clothes. These were all faith actions. Mat. 9:20-22
Actions validate faith. Faith is not just a confession (what you say) but also a profession (what you do). ‘You would do the works of Abraham’ to be children of faith. God wants other Abrahams’ walking the planet taking ‘Abrahamic’ actions. Is. 53:1-3
Abraham’s example is clear. He left Haran at 75, circumcised himself at 99 and took Isaac up a mountain to sacrifice at about 115. His actions established him as the father of faith. Real faith is proven by the actions that accompany it. Gen. 12:24; 17:23-24; 22:9-11
Inert, unresponsive, passive or listless faith is false. Noah was moved ‘to build an Ark,’ Moses decided ‘not to be called an Egyptian’ and when instructed ‘raised his rod over the Red Sea’. Faith always acts. Heb. 11:7, 24; Exod. 14:15-16
Prayer:
i. Ask God to place His hands on you and work signs and wonders so that many may believe Ps. 65:5; Acts 4:29-31
ii. Call on God to frustrate Satan’s evil plans globally, regionally and in your nation. Establish His will Job 5:12
Thought for the day:
Every faith action is a giant stride into prophecy
