Jan. 27th ‘Dissolve Complex Matters I’ – Daily Devotional by Dr Albert Odulele
Bible Reading: 1 Chron. 22:9-10
Ps. 112:5 ‘A good man deals graciously and lends; he will guide his affairs with discretion’
Wisdom prevents and placates wars, conflicts, crises and turbulence whether physical, marital, work place, ministry, etc. Most predicaments are a product of stupidity and the lack of wisdom in speech, actions, decisions, attitudes, etc. Wisdom is to have discretion and to make simple of serious matters.
You can lead a nation without crisis; Solomon did. ‘And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, each man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan as far as Beersheba, all the days of Solomon’ 1 Kg. 4:25. You can be married without turbulence; Abraham always found the way to avoid conflict.
Wisdom makes wise statements and dissolves complex matters. It solves problems with none or sometimes minimal clamour. Wisdom is high-level performance without generating friction. It minimises stress, effort, tasks, etc in executing assignments. Solomon was a man of wisdom and hence a man of ‘results with rest’
‘Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. He shall build a house for my name, and he shall be my son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever’ 1 Chr. 22:9-10
Prayer:
- Pray for the gift of divine wisdom that will give you results accompanied with rest. 1 Kg. 4:29; 1 Cor. 1:24
- Pray the month will not end without leading someone to Jesus and planting him or her in church. Prov. 11:30; Dan. 12:3
Thought for the day:
Does your input in matters bring peace, rest and results?
