Jan. 5th ‘Wise Master Builders’
Bible Reading: Prov. 9:1-6; Prov. 24:3-4; Prov. 14:1
1 Cor. 3:10 ‘according to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it’
Foolishness is not an insult but a description. It means the absence of wisdom. Whenever and wherever God’s wisdom is present, things are built-up, make progress and wax stronger. Look at wisdoms’ boast in Job. 38:4-6:
‘Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. (5) Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? (6) To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone’
God, by wisdom created all things. He built the universe from nothing and laid its foundations. ‘To Him who by wisdom made the heavens, for His mercy endures forever’ Ps. 136:5. Remember, you are ‘made in His image’ Gen. 1:27 and can do the same.
Be a wise master builder like Paul the Apostle. Build your children, career, church, etc by this proven and effective spiritual endowment. Be calculated and decided. If wisdom created the universe, can you imagine what it will do in your life?
Prayer:
- Pray fervently against and dismantle Satan’s onslaught on this generation of youth _ witchcraft, drugs, violence, lust, rebellion, etc. 1:10-12
- Proclaim and prophesy wisdom over all your endeavours. Commit to do nothing without wisdoms’ counsel. Prov. 18:20-21
Thought for the day:
Wisdom is the foundation of all things built to last. No matter how hopeless and helpless things appear, wisdom is the way out.
