September 26th Godliness III
Bible Reading: Gen. 3:6-10; Job. 22:23-24; Heb. 11:24-25
Gen. 2:16-17 ‘and the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die’
Sin is the devils instrument to gain access into peoples’ lives to evict them from God’s eternal plans and purposes. God gave Adam a command, which was disregarded and eventually led to nakedness. This means to be stripped of honour, dignity, potential, beauty and defences. Oh what a great price to pay for sin.
Step out and away from sin into an iniquity-free life and the blessings of the covenant will be obvious to see. Prosperity begins with godliness. Sowing yields increase with righteousness. Success’ secret is holiness and divine guidance is a product of a closer walk with God.
Ps. 25:14 ‘the secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant’
Enjoy holiness, love purity and hate wickedness. Say to sin ‘I know your enjoyment is temporary but bitterly painful’. Bid fleeting pleasures goodbye and welcome the eternal benefits of purity. ‘You will show me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore’ Ps. 16:11
Prayer:
i. Pray that in this ninth month of the year you will give birth to prophecy and promise. Is. 43:18-19; 66:8-9
ii. Ask the Lord to add to Glory House churches daily as many as should be saved. Acts 2:47
Thought for the day:
Decide to live right, even on the pain of death.
