September 12th The Power Of Prayer II
Bible Reading: Gen. 32:24-28; 1 Chron. 4:9-10; 1 Kg. 18:41-46

Acts 6:4 ‘but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word’
It is a consistent daily prayer lifestyle and study of the word that is the secret to what God wants to accomplish in your life. Praying saints soar above storms and prevail over severe challenges. Pray prophecy, consecration, mercy, strength and divine intervention. Prayer may not stop the trial but it will guarantee victory.
Jacob wrestled with God. Jabez called upon the Lord. Elijah stayed on his knees till the drought turned to showers of rain. Prayer is the secret place of thunder where God answers and delivers. Moses spent time in God’s presence and his face started to shine; this is what happens to those who wait in the place of prayer.
Exod. 34:29 ‘now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him’
Jesus was a man of prayer. ‘He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father…’ Mat. 26:39. His birth, battles, ministry, death and resurrection were enveloped in prayer. You cannot go far without including the discipline of prayer. If you haven’t, start the culture of prayer right away. It’s not too late.
Prayer:
i. Pray that believers resist the enemy and live upright and godly. 1 Pt. 5:8-9
ii. Ask the Lord to fill the earth with His goodness, power and glory. Ps. 33:5
Thought for the day:
Keep it simple. Pray and keep praying.
