September 5th Thanksgiving; Praise & Worship III
Bible Reading: Ps. 149:3, 7-9; 1 Sam. 6:12-15
Ps. 150:4 ‘praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!’
Dance before the Lord. Move to sounds and rhythms of adulation with moves of celebration. Dancing is spiritual warfare, a weapon for victory. David said ‘let them praise His name with the dance…’ Ps. 149:3 Do not be arrogant but publicly dance to the Giver of all Life. It expresses worship just like kneeling or bowing.
God is not asking for much. ‘Clap your hands all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph’ Ps. 47:1. Clapping and shouting are expressions of thanksgiving, praise and worship. We clap and cheer for great footballers, actors and actresses and the likes; how much more for all of God’s good works towards you.
Josh. 6:5 ‘it shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him’
Covenant shouting is not the same sound you hear in a sporting event. It’s a spiritual sound that asserts victory, triumph and dominion. Shouting is not academic or intellectual in the house of God, it’s a faith sound that moves the hand of God and guarantees divine outcomes. It’s a covenant practice.
Prayer:
i. Pray for a spirit of wisdom and understanding for every believer you know. Neh. 8:12
ii. Declare that Glory House moves in glory, strength and impact nationally and globally. 2 Cor. 3:18
Thought for the day:
Praise stops the devil and his devices.
