September 29th Financial Principles II
Bible Reading: Deut. 28:1; Jam. 2:18; 1 Kg. 3:4-5
Jn. 12:24 ‘most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain’
Let your seed go and lay hold of your goal. Until life and money, which represents life, become seeds the future remains solitary. Sowing is distinctly different from asking in that its’ about doing. Many pray a lot and even confess a great deal but do very minimal ‘doing’ through giving.
Give what pleases God and reap what pleases you. Sowing is only acceptable and productive when done willingly, joyfully and in faith. Never give under pressure or coercion, as it will not yield much if anything at all. Give from the heart and consider it a privilege to be a part of expanding God’s kingdom and impacting people’s lives.
2 Cor. 9:7 ‘so let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver’
It is impossible to be a genuine giver and end up a beggar. If you haven’t been sowing, stop praying for a harvest but whatever you love giving you will end up having in surplus. The giving life is the winning life. Do not tie your financial wellbeing to handouts from others; work the law of seedtime and harvest.
Prayer:
i. Pray that the mountain of the Lord’s house be established and nations flow into it. Is. 2:2; Mic. 4:1-2
ii. Pray that God’s glory descends upon the Church in a fresh and unprecedented manner. 2 Chron. 7:1
Thought for the day:
Financial in-flows come by flowing-out to God and others.
