August 29th Divine Wisdom I
Bible Reading: Eccl. 10:5-10; 1 Sam. 13:13-14; Prov. 4:5-7
Eccl. 10:10 ‘if the axe is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength; but wisdom brings success’
Wisdom is a principal requirement for success. Foolishness and success are incompatible. Saul lost his throne to ‘wisdom-lacking’ conduct. Wisdom guides, leads and directs and one cannot go far without it. It harnesses and manages resources and potential to produce great results. Wisdom is indispensable for the end-time glory to be revealed.
Mk. 6:2 ‘and when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, where did this man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!’
Divine wisdom is a spiritual force and builder of marriage, ministry, health, etc. Prophecy cannot be fulfilled if one is not clothed with wisdom. ‘God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding…’ 1 Kg. 4:29 and he ruled with peace and prosperity for over forty years. The same wisdom that made heaven and earth will give you health, prosperity and good success (Ps. 136:5)
Exod. 28:3 ‘so you shall speak to all who are gifted artisans, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments, to consecrate him, that he may minister to me as priest’
Prayer:
i. Decree that God shall be exalted in all the nations of the earth, with no exceptions. Ps. 46:10; Ps. 67:2
ii. Thank God for unity in the Body of Christ, amongst laity and leadership. Jn. 17:11, 17
Thought for the day:
Wisdom is the principal and primary pursuit of life.
