Mar. 18th                      Securing Destiny

Bible Reading:     2 Chron. 20:20-22; Ps. 22:1; Acts 16:25-34; Is. 57:19; Jer. 1:5

Is. 57:19 ‘I create the fruit of the lips: peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near, says the Lord, and I will heal him’

While reading the Word and meditating I once asked God why praise was important to Him. Yes, I understood the power of praise and thanksgiving but I was seeking to learn from the Lord who so clearly desires praise.

God began to show the power of praise and thanksgiving in securing destiny. Look at the life of David. A shepherd boy who would never have met the criteria for a king yet in God’s eyes he was set for elevation. He moved from shepherding animals to God’s people, Israel; David’s lifestyle of praise secured his destiny.

Regardless of the several destiny contending situations, you must use the weapon of praise. Paul and Silas were in jail and their lives were being threatened but they choose to praise God. Herod’s certain death sentence did not deter them from praise and this resulted in an earth-moving earthquake that showed off God’s greatness.

Your destiny is of paramount importance to God. This was determined before you were formed in the womb; God set you apart for a purpose and has an agenda to fulfill through you. Praise allows you to stay connected to God the Originator of destiny.

Stay tuned to God like a transistor radio does to a specific station to remain on track for destiny! Praise is a frequency we need to tune into and listen to God’s destiny revealing broadcasts. Resolve to praise God daily starting from today.

Prayer:

  • Pray for insight into divine truth for progressive sanctification and perfection. 17:17; 2 Cor. 3:18; Rev. 3:18c
  • Pray for manifestations of God’s power and glory to usher in a revival. 111:6; Is. 66:18; Hab. 2:14; Acts 1:8

Thought for the day
Praise says ‘God is in control’ no matter how bleak things look
