Feb. 25th A Good Conscience I
Bible Reading: 1 Thess. 5:22; Prov. 15:3
1 Tim. 1:19 ‘having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck’
The conscience comes alive in Jesus Christ but a defiled conscience punctures faith. Others cannot see your conscience but God does and its’ your God-ordained policeman. This is what stopped Joseph from sinning in Potiphar’s house. Gen. 39:8-9
A strong conscience gives effective faith but when a ‘good conscience’ is rejected faith suffers shipwreck. Refuse to defile your conscience by lust, fraud, sex, immigration untruth, etc. A good conscience is priceless. 2 Cor. 1:12; Acts 23:1
The most destructive conscience defilers are offence, the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Don’t be bitter or ill willed towards God or man. Renounce immorality, demonic desires and every satanic craving. Acts 24:16; 1 Jn. 2:16
Jealously guard what you feed your eyes upon; especially pornography, Internet viewings, ‘adult’ TV subscriptions, etc. Also get rid of that overinflated estimation of yourself. God resists the proud. Gal. 6:7; Jam. 4:10
Prayer:
i. Pray that God’s goodness pursues you daily and leads you to righteous choices in life Ps. 65:11; Rom. 2:4
ii. Ask for strategies to win souls personally and grace to bear fruit that remains Mat. 9:38; Prov. 11:30
Thought for the day:
Evil left unstopped today will stop you tomorrow
