Feb. 19th Walk In Love II
Bible Reading: Ps. 51:1-11; Mat. 6:33
Jn. 1:1-2 ‘in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God’
Ask yourself the question, ‘do I truly love God?’ ‘What is the proof of genuine love for God?’ One reliable pointer to God’s love is ‘serving Him’. David was always desperate to please God, never careless about God and His kingdom and lived to establish His will on earth. Does this describe you? Rom. 6:16; Luke 16:3
Those who love God also love His Word. David said ‘oh, how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day’ Ps. 119:97 You cannot love God and not love His Word and whatever (services, teachings, material) increases your knowledge and understanding of it. This characterised the faith champions. Job. 23:12; Mat. 4:4; Jn. 1:1-2
Do you love God’s House? Loving God is displayed by eager, excited enthusiasm about being in church. Love is proven by constant contributions to the progress and wellbeing of God’s house; by also propagating and defending the local church. Ps. 42:2. Ps. 84:1-4
Those who love God are givers. They always look for opportunities to give to God without necessarily asking for anything in return. You can give without love but you cannot love and not give. God loved and gave His only Son; reciprocate His love passionately. Jn. 3:16
Prayer:
i. Declare you are a loving giver and faithful sower; that you will rejoice in your harvest 2 Cor. 9:7; Lev. 26:3-8
ii. Repent on behalf of nations for wickedness and godlessness that births calamity and suffering Hab. 2:12-13; Is. 59:3-4
Thought for the day:
Closely examine your love for God
