Bible Reading: 1 Kg. 3:5-12
1 Kg. 4:24-25 ‘for he had dominion over all the region on this side of the River from Tiphsah even to Gaza, namely over all the kings on this side of the River; and he had peace on every side all around him. And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, each man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan as far as Beersheba, all the days of Solomon’
Do not trouble your own home (ministry, business, etc). Be a man or woman of wisdom and peace. ‘He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart’ Prov. 11:29
Wisdom makes friendships and partnerships while fools are hated and detested. Be an icon of fairness, peace and progress. Be renowned for bringing calm, reconciliation and solutions to difficult and tricky matters. Be reputed for wisdom
Some people make any matter worse once they get involved. They are cantankerous, difficult and rigid. Wisdom is not abusive, abrasive, judgemental or prejudiced. Jesus said ‘blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God’ Mat. 5:9
Choose to be the ‘peacemaker’ of your home, church, work place, etc. Be the calm constructive voice of divine reason. Let wisdom make you incisive, inspirational, inclusive and insightful. Take pleasure in being a Joseph to the threats in your world.
Prayer:
- Ask God for grace and wisdom to be a ‘peacemaker’ everywhere you find yourself 5:9
- Pray for Joseph’s anointing to rest on leaders in your local church 41:38-39
Thought for the day:
