Jan. 6th ‘Elevation And Promotion’
Bible Reading: 1 Kg. 4:20-21; Prov. 4:7-9
1 Kg. 4:21 ‘so Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life’
You can’t possess divine wisdom and lack exponential promotion because wisdom was what paved the way and sustained Solomon’s elevation. He wrote in Prov. 4:8 ‘exalt her and she will promote you; she will bring you honour, when you embrace her’
Joseph was promoted in the courts of Pharaoh. Daniel was elevated in the palaces of Babylon. Wisdom does not only display itself in ‘church’ matters; it is an unstoppable ‘elevator’ in the world too. It will take you all the way to the top.
Prov. 4:9 ‘she will place on your head an ornament of grace; a crown of glory she will deliver to you’
If you want to walk in the abundant ‘grace and glory’ of God, search out wisdom and embrace understanding. I spent six tortuous years just to acquire a degree in medicine and surgery; surely you can see the need to invest in the pursuit of wisdom.
After graduating, my first job as a doctor was in a Teaching Hospital. A ‘nonentity’ turned into ‘somebody’ by a mere human degree. Wisdom will positively impact your struggle, situation and status. Desire and chase ‘her’ as a man does a woman of his hearts desire.
Prayer:
- Pick one of the world’s many trouble spots and pray for God’s mercy to abound. The world is heaving under the burden of antibiotic-resistant infections, Ebola, Tuberculosis, infant mortality, etc. 2 Chron. 7:14-15; Ezek. 22:30
- Ask God for wisdom for elevation that will enable you to make a difference. Prov. 2:3-6; Is. 48:17
Thought for the day:
Wisdom is the antidote for stagnation. Enemies and haters cannot stop the wise from rising.
