Jan. 22nd ‘Peace And Serenity’ Devotional By Dr Albert Odulele
Bible Reading:     1 Kg. 4:25, 34; Is. 9:6; 1 Cor. 1:24

Prov. 3:13, 17 ‘happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace’

The world is perhaps in its most restive state in all of history. The political, social, religious, economic, military and medical agitations and turbulence are unprecedented. Billions of people seek for peace and calm and can’t find any.

Wisdom is God’s lasting source of peace. You see, Jesus is both ‘the Prince of Peace’ and ‘the wisdom of God’ that gives peace. Solomon said ‘her (wisdom) ways are pleasant and all her paths are peace’. People are troubled not because of things happening around them but for the lack of wisdom.

Wisdom sees beyond the immediate (present) and peers into tomorrow (the future). Wisdom does not let the storms catch ones attention but focuses on the promises and potentials of God. ‘She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her’ Prov. 3:18.

Solomon was known for great wisdom. ‘And men of all nations, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon.’ 1 Kg. 4:34 As a result, his kingdom was noted for great peace. ‘And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, each man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan as far as Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.’ 1 Kg. 4:25

Prayer:

  1. Ask for the wisdom that gives peace, calm and serenity. Jam. 3:17-18
  2. Revival in North America _ 16% of the earth’s landmass, over 5% of world population and wealthiest continent. Is. 64:1-3

Thought for the day:
Wisdom presides over financial resolutions that create wealth, physical choices that give health and life decisions that produce long life.
