Feb. 7th Joseph and Moses Examples
Bible Reading: Jam. 2:18; Heb. 6:16-18
Jn. 6:28-29 ‘then they said to Him, what shall we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, this is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent’
Make a decision to follow hard after the footsteps of those who ‘worked the works of God’. The bible is replete with examples of champions of faith, individuals who exhibited great faith by unbelievable acts.
Joseph rose up from the ashes of impossible odds. Think of the rejection, assassination plots by siblings, slavery and years of unjust imprisonment he endured. But by faith he emerged a prince and prime minister in a foreign land. Gen. 39:21
Consider Moses too. He was born under Pharaoh’s decree of death, placed in a crocodile infested River Nile, separated from family and raised by strangers. He was a conflicted man who eventually killed an Egyptian but by faith he became one of the bible’s most significant prophets. Exod. 33:13-14
Believe and do the works of God. Pull yourself out of every dungeon of life. Regardless of the narrative of your circumstances, by faith pull yourself out. There is no enemy under the sun, including death that cannot be conquered by faith. Mk. 5:36-42; 1 Cor. 15:26
Prayer:
i. Pray for peace, joy and gladness no matter the circumstances. Ps. 23:6; 118:1
ii. Ask God for love to burn anew in GH; sincere ‘agape’ love in every aspect of church life Col. 1:8; Phil. 1:9
Thought for the day:
Consider becoming the daily living proof of ‘works of faith’
