Feb. 23rd Joy And Gladness
Bible Reading: 1 Cor. 2:14-16; 1 Pt. 4:13
Is. 12:3-5 ‘therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And in that day you will say: praise the Lord, call upon His name; declare His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for He has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth’
The bible says ‘rejoice always’ 1 Thess. 5:16. Know the rules of the game and start smiling to access revelation for faith exploits. Until you stop moaning, complaining and weeping it will be difficult to gain bible insight.
Someone said ‘Jesus never intervened on behalf of anyone who was wailing and weeping’; in fact He drove such people away. The bible prescribes joy and gladness at all times, ‘rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!’ Phil. 4:4
Give no one reason to pity you! Let nobody have grounds to convey condolences or sympathy your way. Concern and commiseration merely compound sorrow and make it worse. Reject self-pity, heaviness, gloom or depression.
Rejoice! Be happy! Celebrate God and commemorate His goodness. Be glad and make music in your heart and soul. ‘Draw water from the wells of salvation’ with a full tank of joy. ‘Sing to the Lord for He has done excellent things’
Prayer:
i. Thank God for His abundant goodness and mercy that will follow you through the year Ps. 23:6; Ps. 118:1
ii. Pray against global scourges of Ebola, HIV/AIDS, childhood mortality, malaria, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, etc. Mat. 18:18
Thought for the day:
The joy of the Lord is divine strength
