June. 3rd Profits Of Prayer I
Bible Reading: Acts 4:31; Eph. 1:17-19; Mk. 16:20; Is. 54:17
1 Cor. 2:4 ‘and my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power’
Prayer is a very profitable venture. For instance, the apostles assembled to pray on one occasion and ‘where all filled with the Spirit and spoke God’s Word with boldness’. The same spiritual fire and fervency will come upon you in the place of prayer.
For several years I prayed that God would ‘give to me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him and that the eyes of my understanding be enlightened…’ Prayer opens channels for the free flow of God’s wisdom, understanding and revelation to His church and to individuals too.
Jer. 33:3 ‘call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know’
Folks, Christian ‘impact’ increases with fervent prayers. Put the ‘wood’ of God’s Word on the ‘altar’ and light it with the ‘fire’ of prayer. Look at what God said, ‘the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning…’ Lev. 6:12
God wants Christians to be His ambassadors. He wants us to be exponents of His power, examples of His promises and exhibitions of progress. Well, prayer is an essential part of this journey, and that’s why Jesus said ‘men always ought to pray and not lose heart’ Lk. 18:1
Prayer:
i. Rebuke every evil spirit resisting your vibrant and effective prayer lifestyle 2 Cor. 10:3-5
ii. Release by faith an atmosphere and anointing for prayer in your home, office, city and nation 1 Cor. 15:10
Thought for the day:
A fervent Christian is proof of a vibrant prayer lifestyle
