August 25th Hard Work I
Bible Reading: Deut. 28:1; Prov. 12:24

Eccl. 10:18 ‘because of laziness the building decays, and through idleness of hands the house leaks’
Success does not fall on people’s laps neither is it served on a silver platter. You must work hard for success. Lazy or idle folk never amount to anything or have impact. Two cardinal requirements for failure are laziness and idleness. Refuse to be reluctant to exert yourself, sluggish, unwilling to work, unoccupied or doing nothing. You need to be diligent and hardworking to succeed in anything.
Prov. 22:29
‘do you see a man who excels (diligent) in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men’
It isn’t enough to fast and pray; obey the entire counsel of God. Hard work is physical or mental effort, task, doing and action. Diligence is steady earnest application, industry and busy engagement. These two are demanded for success. Sportsmen exercise, camp out for weeks and prepare hard for competition. This is pivotal to success, theirs and yours too.
Prov. 24:27 ‘prepare your outside work, make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterward build your house’
Prayer:
i. Pray for a personal hunger for God’s Word and His righteousness. Mat. 5:6; Col. 3:16
ii. Ask God to make you a compassionate and consummate soul winner. Mat. 4:19; Mat. 9:38
Thought for the day:
Be hardworking, diligent and successful.
