Feb. 13th The Obedience Of Faith I
Bible Reading: Deut. 28:1-2; Gen. 22:12, 16-18; Lk. 5:4-5
Ps. 112:1-3 ‘Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever’
Obedience is the ultimate proof of faith. Every bible promise is conditional and while most look for ‘promises’ the wise search for the ‘conditions’ to adhere to. A man-of-God once said ‘do the ridiculous to access the miraculous’.
Child-like, naïve obedience to the Word is what true prevailing faith really is. If you sign up to absurd bible compliance you can expect to enjoy covenant blessings. God instructs us to construct us. When God’s Word moves you; you end up moving God. 1 Sam. 15:22
He said to Moses ‘go forward’ and much later ‘speak to the Rock’. To Naaman it was ‘bathe seven times’, to Joshua ‘cross the River Jordan’ and to the servants at the wedding ‘serve water to the chief’. Exod. 14:15; Num. 20:8; 32:21; 2 Kg. 5:10; Jn. 2:8
Obey God’s rule and become a ruler. Be dominated by His law and walk in dominion. Satan fears, God honours and life satisfies obedient saints. Congratulations; you’re stepping into a world of glory. 2 Cor. 10:6; Jam. 4:7; Jn. 5:19-20
Prayer:
i. Banish depression and sorrow; receive the garment of thanksgiving, praise and worship Ps. 146:2; Is. 61:3
ii. Pray against high-level diabolical strategies that threaten the preaching of the gospel 1 Pt. 5:8-9
Thought for the day:
Obedience is more powerful than sacrifice
