September 10th Engaging God’s Word IV
Bible Reading: Gen. 41:39; Dan. 1:20; Is. 11:1-2

2 Tim. 3:15 ‘and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus’
Wisdom is the practical application of understanding. It knows how to utilise the word in any situation, be it marital, financial, ministry, raising a child, etc. Wisdom is a great spiritual virtue that enables anyone to rule in life. Jesus said ‘who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler…’ Lk. 12:42
Joseph ruled in Egypt through wisdom. Daniel was ten times wiser than his peers and Solomon said ‘wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars’ Prov. 9:1. I pray the wisdom of God’s word will illuminate your paths and order your footsteps aright.
Mat. 13:54 ‘when He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?’
Wisdom follows knowledge and understanding; they go hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other. Wisdom is also a gift from the Spirit of the Lord so ask God for fresh doses of wisdom on a daily bases. The hour of strange blessings has come, make the word of God a covenant practice.
Prayer:
i. Ask God to fill Christians with lion-like boldness to preach the gospel and confront challenges. Prov. 28:1
ii. Decree manifestations of God’s power and willingness of believers to press into it in Glory House. Ps. 110:3
Thought for the day:
Wisdom is ‘the’ principal pursuit of life.
